So I dropped the bomb two days ago that I’m pregnant. I’m currently 13 weeks or 3 months, at the very end of the first trimester. Baby is about 2.9 inches or 7,5 cm and weighs about .81 oz or 23 g – supposedly the size of a peach. Though she’s (don’t freak, don’t know the gender yet, but I’ll be calling the baby ‘he’ or ‘she’ simply cause I feel weird saying ‘it’) still fairly small my belly has gone from simply being bloated and uhm.. poofy? to being solidly curvy below the belly button. Don’t know how else to explain it. So it’s probably not completely visible yet, but definitely not casually flat either. Truth be told, my pants feel really tight and I prefer to flatteringly unbotton them whenever – possibly – possible.

I have had my blog for about a month and a half. And as I have told you on countless occasions I have often felt that I have bit off more than I can chew, as I lack the wisdom and know-how that my fellow, shall we say, wife bloggers possess. So, naturally, early on, I sighed and thought that my Mom could probably do this so much better.
Something we heard a lot from people when we announced that we were moving to Hawaii was, “Hahaha! You are gonna die of island fever before you last 8 months!”. We shook our heads and smiled. We didn’t think being far away from any sort of mainland would affect us. How bad could it be living within walking distance of the beach with beautiful summer weather all year round?
Well we haven’t experienced island fever yet (ask me what I think in 6 months though) but rather I’ll admit to having been hit by culture shock. Coming from Scandinavia there are just certain things you’re not used to having to worry about. Here are my main toe curlers as a newbie Hawaiian. (more…)
