A little pub date

Having family visit comes with little extra blessings like stolen mini-dates. Last night we were so happy to be able to sneak away after bedtime for a couple of hours. We went to a nearby pub – my first pub experience!! – and shared nachos. It really wasn’t about the food or the place, only that we got some time to attempt – cause you never really do – to not worry about a child and just enjoy each other’s company. It’s nice to be reminded of what it was like to be a newlywed couple once in a while.

The Schoolhouse Pub is one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to. The building itself dates back to 1859 and was originally – you guessed it – a schoolhouse. The tall illuminated room makes for the perfect restaurant atmosphere. We got a table at the top of the stairs and had a nice view over the crowded room.

What did the mormons get to drink at the pub?

I suggested to Marcus that instead of getting dessert at the pub we just stop by a store and get my *favorite!* Malteser easter bunnies! It doesn’t look much like a bunny anymore in the picture. Sorry, couldn’t wait!
(Please excuse my mismatched hasty nail polish. I underestimated how difficult it would be to paint my nails with a toddler in the room.)
